Well, it’s that time of year again and I had the opportunity to create the centerpiece for their winter party. The event was held at the Crown Plaza Hotel here in Houston, Texas across from the Reliant Stadium.
The first half of the ballroom was set in Casino style, complete with billiards tables, poker and craps tables. I didn’t get a picture of this part (sorry). The second half had the dance floor and tables for the seated dinner.
Millette and Keith of Rhinestone Entertainment were responsible for the elegant decor and table-top centerpieces.
I must admit this is the first time one of my trees was used as a centerpiece, let alone ON TOP OF A TABLE. I could not have pulled it off without the help of my trusted associate, Renise Turner, who arrived before me and remained the entire set-up time and returned at midnight to break-down the 9 foot tree and pack decorations for the trip back home. Byron (my son) was able to help put up the tree and connect the lights, and straighten the tree when we noticed it looked like the leaning tower of Pisa after it had been lifted up and placed on the table.
Here are a few pictures of what the tree looked like.
I had to get over my fear of heights real fast in order to climb the ladder so I could get the peacock feathers into the top of the mesh to finish off the crown for this majestic Christmas tree.
I didn’t bring my canon so that I could manually make adjustments to the lighting so that my pictures looked like what people saw (sorry). I will know next time. Thanks for stopping by and checking out “My SugarLump Creations.”
